Two AirAsia India flights on Delhi-Srinagar route face technical snag, return mid-air | Aviation Information

Inside a span of six hours, two of AirAsia India’s A320 plane en route from Delhi to Srinagar returned to Delhi on June 11 after the plane confronted technical snag mid-air. The Delhi-Srinagar flight I5-712, which was being operated on A320 plane with registration quantity VT-APJ, took off from the Delhi airport at round 11.55am, a passenger who was on this flight advised PTI.

After the aircraft was mid-air for about half an hour, the pilot introduced that the plane (VT-APJ) is dealing with a technical snag, the passenger acknowledged. VT-APJ plane safely returned to Delhi airport at round 1:45pm with all of the passengers, the passenger acknowledged. One other A320 plane with registration quantity VT-RED was organized by the airline to conduct the I5-712 flight in order that the stranded passengers may very well be taken to Srinagar, the passenger mentioned.

Someday after the second aircraft took off, the pilot introduced that this plane (VT-RED) too has developed a technical snag and it should return to the Delhi airport, the passenger mentioned. VT-RED plane safely returned to Delhi airport at round 5:30pm with the passengers.

The airline then advised the passengers that they will both cancel their flight and get a refund, or they will e-book one other flight inside the subsequent 30 days, the passenger acknowledged. When requested about this incident, an AirAsia India spokesperson mentioned, “AirAsia India confirms that flight from Delhi to Srinagar needed to return to Delhi on account of a technical snag. The plane is being operated after rectification of the snag to get well continuity of operations to and from Srinagar.”

“We remorse the inconvenience and disruption to the journey plans of our company and reaffirm our dedication to security in all our operations,” the spokesperson famous. Airbus, which manufactures A320 plane, didn’t reply to PTI’s request for a press release on this matter.
